Button-Down Shirt Skirt

My Dad, like many other dads, has managed to ruin quite a few button-downs in his day. Luckily, I have been able to transform many of his unwearable shirts into something new. The button-down shirt skirt is not only a great way to recycle worn out clothes, but it is a super-cute design with a fun feminine menswear vibe. I love wearing mine out to lunch and to school- yes, it is dress code appropriate!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1) A fairly large button-down shirt (larger than you would wear normally)
2) A yard of fabric for your waistband and bow (preferably a similar type of fabric to the material of the shirt)
3) Scissors
4) Needle and thread or a sewing machine
5) Several snaps or hooks and eyes

Enjoy!
